Welcome to HTB Consulting

Auditors, Business Advisors & Forensic Audit Services

HTB Consulting is a firm of Auditors, Business Advisors and Forensic Audit Services that was established by Thembela Mzolo and Hlonelwa Zantsi.

An amazing story to tell, the firm started from humble beginnings, operating with one laptop from a bedroom with literally no funding whatsoever. The only investment was our skill, drive, passion and discipline to implement our vision to become one of the leading / preferred business consultants.

Today, HTB has become a household name in the consulting business industry with satellite offices in East London, Johannesburg and Durban.

The short name HTB represents the ethos of our strategy, being a holistic technical business, and this demonstrates how we have exclusively packaged our service offering as a business.

We are not naive to the ever changing challenges faced by business in these trying times of the economy, the demands brought by the emergence of the 4th industrial revolution, and the need to remain relevant by embracing the “VUCA” paradigm.

As a firm that seeks to assist our clients realize their goals, we pride ourselves on giving back to the communities within which our clients operate through our CSI program. The program is part of our Social Entrepreneurship Strategy that is based on our eco-system approach, as opposed to ego-system, to doing business.

Governance: 'The means to an end'

Sustainable economic growth and service delivery are at the forefront locally and globally and the mandate for our government is to ensure that these objectives are pursued and realised in all the sectors that drive our economy. In order for these objectives to be implemented, we need to have strategies that are service delivery driven, efficient economical and effective business processes, a competent team of personnel, efficient and reliable information systems, effective monitoring and evaluation systems, proper governance and accountability, economic policy that effectively responds to dynamics of the global economies.

Historically, governance has been associated with the private sector and viewed to be "nice to have" in the public sector. In recent years, the public sector has evolved and taken governance very seriously through the promulgation of various governance mechanisms such as the Public Finance Management Act 1 of 1999, Municipal Finance Management Act, 56 of 2003, Municipal Systems Act 32 of 2000, Municipal Structures Act, Municipal Performance Regulations, Employment Equity Act, King II and III Reports on Corporate Governance and other various pieces of legislation that regulate public sector.

The responsibility that follows through, whilst implementing government policies and strategies, is understanding and strict compliance or application of these governance mechanisms. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of everyone in the employ of public and private institutions to familiarise and understand the requirements engraved in these governance mechanisms to ensure a conducive governance culture throughout organisations. Every business activity, whether procurement, implementation of projects, recruitment of staff, management of assets, processing of payments, you name it, is regulated by a particular piece of legislation.
